As a Cheesecake Data Engineer Intern, you will play an integral part in supporting our Information Technology department by assisting with ongoing projects and responsibilities that relate to your future career. You’ll have the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of how an IT department functions by interacting with the entire team as well as cross functionally with other departments.

Reporting to the Data Engineering Manager, you will work with an IT Integrations team of 4 members, located in Calabasas Hills, CA, supporting the IT function for a $3.4 billion public company with over 300 restaurants and more than 47,500 staff members.

• Collaborate and contribute to the design, deployment, and operation of robust data architectures and pipelines
• Implement best practices for centralized logging and monitoring and improve overall observability of the data architecture.
• Oversee and optimize data workflows, diagnose and address issues, and continuously refine processes to maximize efficiency
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for data processes, pipelines, and architecture to facilitate knowledge sharing

• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary educational institution.
• Completed a minimum 2 years in post-secondary education.
• Majoring in Computer Science/Engineering, Management Information Systems, IT or related field.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Available to work a minimum of 40 hours per week
• Available to work from the Support Center at least 3 days per week (Tues, Wed, Thurs)
• Intermediate-level skills in SQL and scripting languages such as Python or C#.
• A self-driven attitude with a curious mind, eager to tackle challenging problems.
• Knowledge of ETL development, data integrations, and orchestration is preferred.
• Experience with CI/CD and version control.
• Exposure to cloud platforms – Azure, GCP, or AWS.
